Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions before your first session? You're not alone. Here are the ones we hear most often.
What if I come in for an intro session and decide this isn't for me?
No problem at all. The intro session is completely free and there's no obligation. If you decide after coming in that it's not the right fit, you're free to walk away — no fees, no pressure. We'd rather you make the right decision for yourself than feel locked into something that isn't working.
What do I need to get started?
All you need is a guitar. If you don't have one yet, don't worry — we can help you figure out the right fit during your intro session. You're welcome to try out a few guitars at the school before making any decisions on gear.
Why aren't your prices listed on the website?
Guitar lessons are an investment, and the quality and style of instruction varies a lot from one teacher to another. Rather than have you make a decision based purely on price, we'd rather you experience a session first so you can evaluate the value for yourself. Pricing is discussed after the intro session.
I've never played before. Am I too old to start?
Not at all. Many of our students are picking up the guitar later in life, and they're some of our most motivated learners. If you're serious about learning, age is not a factor.
I'm already an experienced player. Can you help me improve?
Yes. Whether you're looking to refine your technique, deepen your theory knowledge, or break through a plateau you've been stuck on, we can help. You don't need to start from scratch to make real progress.
Do you teach kids?
Yes. We work with students of various ages. For children under 7, we handle things on a case by case basis — reach out and we'll let you know if it's a good fit based on the child's readiness.
How long are lessons?
Lessons run approximately one hour.
How often should I attend?
We generally recommend at least two lessons per week, but we can discuss all the options when you come in for your intro session.
What styles of music do you teach?
We cover a wide range — rock, blues, country, jazz, pop, folk, and more. If it's on guitar, we can work with it. The one exception is classical guitar, which is a specialized discipline we don't currently offer.
Do I need to know how to read music?
No. Most guitarists don't read traditional sheet music and that's completely fine. We'll teach you what you actually need to know to play the music you want to play.
What if I miss a lesson?
No problem — just reschedule. We make it easy to move things around so a missed lesson doesn't set you back.
How long until I can play real songs?
It depends on the student and how consistently they practice, but most beginners who put in the work are playing real songs within their first month or two. You won't be stuck on exercises forever — we get you making music as quickly as possible.
Still have questions?
The best way to get answers is to come in. Your intro session is free and there's no obligation.
